CAT TIDBITS : Some interesting facts about cats...

  • A Cat's sense of smell is 14x stronger than a humans

  • Cats step with both left legs, then both right legs when they walk or run. (Did you know the only other animals to do this are the giraffe, camel and the maned wolf.)

  • Cats need only 17% of the light humans need to see

  • Cat urine glows under black light

  • Besides their noses, cats can smell with something called the "Jacobson's organ" which is located in the upper surface of their mouths.

  • Cats have 244 bones in their bodies - that's about 40 more bones than humans have!

  • Cats have 32 muscles in each ear

  • There are about 100 different kinds of cats

  • Cats only sweat from the pads of their paws
