Happy Ending stories of our adopted pets!

Meet Waffles ...

Hello, my name is Waffles & I have a story to tell you about my life. My little life started out rough. I had no home and my family was living outside. My mother tried very hard to look after us, but food was hard to come by, and we were always hungry.

Then one day some nice people from the S.P.C.A came and caught us. It's a good thing they did, because I found out later that if some other people would have caught us they were going to drowned us!

My sister and I lived at the Stillwater Kennels for a while, they looked after us really well. They kept us warm, kept our bellies full and gave us lots of attention.

Then one day, a family with kids came and adopted me! They took me home with them and they were very nice to me. They fed me really well there too, gave me a nice bed to sleep in (I like the top bunk the best), and introduced me to who they said was going to be my friend. He looked like a dog to me. He seemed to really like me, but I wasn't sure if I was going to like him. Turns out he's not so bad. We keep each other company through the day when our people are at work and school.

I am now very healthy and have very nice, shiny fur and a great home. I get lots of attention and I get to stay inside now where it is safe and warm for me. I spend most of my days sleeping (the kitchen has a great sunbeam), eating and playing, I love it here! I hope all of my other friends get a great home like me.

Happy at last,

Waffles

Note from the family;

Hello, we are Waffles adopted family. We adopted her from the SPCA & are very happy we did! We love her very much. She has fit into our family very well. Waffles, now loves to chase and play with the dog. Without her, he would be so lonely. She completes our family nicely, and we are so happy we have her!

Sincerely,

Waffles Adopted Family

A happy home for YANNI ...

We hadn't really intended to get another cat after we lost our Jonine in July. However, in September our friend John came to visit. John is active in the  Kamloops SPCA so we took him out to Stillwater so that he could meet Debbie and see the Flin Flon / Creighton's SPCA setup. As soon as we walked in the door, a little black and white kitten started meowing and being cute.  The upshot was  we came home with another kitten.  I told John that I was naming the kitten after him so we called him Yanni, the Greek version of John.

Yanni has fit into the feline and human household. He is by far the most active kitten we've ever had. Like the Energizer bunny he keeps going and going. He is forever bugging our three year old Farley and the two spend much time wrestling until Farley gets tired of it and hides on him. He then tries to get Glory going by chasing her. She jumps up on top of the TV tower and then puts him in his place.

Yanni is fascinated by the bathtub and likes to play with the stopper. He also climbs in the bathroom sink and curls up there.  He is possessive when it comes to treats and toys. He growls at the others if they try to take over his food.  He is chatty and gives a little prrrrt before he does anything whether it's play time or petting time. He has turned into a companionable kitten and likes to be with you. He has become our official greeter when anyone comes to the door. This little kitten has stolen our hearts.

Move over, here's MILO ...

Milo started life by being kicked so hard that his left femur and pelvis were shattered. He was rescued and taken to the SPCA. Debbie could see that he was a fighter and took the chance to save him. He was rushed to the vet and had surgery to fix his leg and pelvis.  I felt we needed to adopt another cat as a playmate for our other cat.

We went to the SPCA to see what cats they had.

I saw this little guy in the cage. He started to meow. I went to him and it was love at first sight.  He had a cone on his head and stitches in his leg, but he was beautiful. When I heard what had happened to him. I knew I had to have him. I went home and talked it over with the rest of my family. They agreed that he belonged with us. The very next day I went and adopted him. I couldn't take him home yet because he wasn't well enough. Shortly after that, Milo developed a virus that might have proved fatal, but fortunately recovered. He finely came home to live with us a week later.   Milo is absolutely the best kitten. He has a little bit of a limp but other than that he has made a full recovery. He is perfect, absolutely perfect. We love him so much.
