SPAY / NEUTER PROGRAM
The Spay/Neuter Program is a program managed by the Flin Flon/Creighton & Area S.P.C.A. Inc. with two main objectives:
- To reduce the number of unwanted and stray animals in our area.
- To promote responsible pet ownership through a reduced cost spay/neuter program.
We believe that no dog or cat should remain able to reproduce only because its owner cannot afford to pay for the surgery. The program was developed to help pet owners qualify for a reduced cost spay or neuter of their pet. Only low-income individuals qualify for participation and those requiring the program the most will receive top priority.
Completed applications must be submitted to the SPCA for approval. Successful applicants will be required to pay the reduced spay/neuter fee to the SPCA. Upon receipt of these funds, arrangements will be made for payment to the veterinarian of your choice within a set time limit. Other procedures or medical requirements, whether performed at the same time or not, are not eligible.
Pet Owner/Applicant Responsibilities:
to arrange for the vaccination of the pet in advance of the application submission
to complete the application and submit it to the SPCA
to participate in an interview with a designated SPCA official and to provide proof of income status or other special circumstances which suggest eligibility for participation
to pay the reduced cost fee to the SPCA
to schedule the appointment for surgery and to make transportation arrangements
to comply with the time limit indicated.
$50 fee for cat surgery
$75 fee for dog surgery (includes vacination required)
